Rehearsal this week will be at our normal time 2-3pm on Sunday (tomorrow) in the con. I failed to reserve a room this week (oops, sorry, I forgot) so we'll have to just see what's available and make do. We'll meet downstairs and try for Room 4 first and go from there. 2 people have told me they won't be there, otherwise, I'm looking forward to seeing you.
Just so you know what the next 2 weeks will look like:
This week is Marshall's testimony and next week is my senior talk. You will probably know most of the music for this week, but some of the stuff I've chosen for my senior talk will be foreign to you and more complicated.
One song that I wrote will just be me and Marshall, so you don't have to worry about that one. Then there is a song that Tim's friend wrote. We don't have music for it, so Paul is in the process of transcribing the recording for us to make a lead sheet. (Yay, Paul!) We won't have it at tomorrow's rehearsal (because that's way too much to ask of Paul), and I'm not sure how complicated the piece will turn out to be, so we're going to need to plan on spending a significant portion of next week's rehearsal on it. Because it will be new to people and is a little rhythmically complex, we're only going to expect people to sing the chorus with us and we will be on our own for the verses. To make matters more fun, Marshall will not be at our regular rehearsal next week, so we will be without piano for rehearsing.
What does this all mean? It means that this week's rehearsal I want to get through some of next week's music as well so that we can have as much time as we need at next week's rehearsal. It also means that the next few rehearsals will have lots to get through and require people to come prepared to stay focused so that we get through everything and I don't flip out :-)
Rehearsal next week: Because it will be an important rehearsal, I am planning to have next week's rehearsal at the normal time, in spite of Reading Period. If this is going to be a problem for you, I need to know RIGHT NOW (literally, reply to me as soon as you finish reading this). Because the music is new and different, if you are not going to be at this rehearsal (unless I've already made arrangements to meet with you separately) then you will not be singing/playing the songs you don't know at Large Group that week. Capice?
Ok. See you all tomorrow afternoon. Now would be the time to let me know if you're not able to be at rehearsal next week...
