New Songbook Final Steps

9/15/14 with deletions and additions we currently have added 1 and 3/4 (two-sided) sheets (7 booklet pages) to lyrics book. If there are some short songs and can squeeze them in a couple more "deletion" spots. Unless we add songs 4 booklet pages at a time, we will have blank pages at the end of the booklet (i.e. one sheet of paper holds 4 booklet pages).

Musicians Copy

• • final prep work (see spreadsheet)

    • finish last few lead sheets - KP et al about 2 left

    • there are a few 2-pager songs (not additions) that can be shrunk down to 1 page - TW done

    • there may be a few that are still in a key that is too high (I caught another one we missed last night and transposed down) done

    • finish transferring unchanged songs to new directory (double checking as go -- checked off on spreadsheet) done

  • final editing

    • compile directory into alphabetical composite PDF (print copy)

    • add lyric book page numbers (yellow tags)

    • add blank pages so 2-page songs are on facing pages

  • printing/assembling

    • print on duplexing color printer (probably WI IV regional office cheapest)

    • take to OfficeMax or Office Depot to get spiral bound

Lyrics Book

• • final prep work Lyrics book (see spreadsheet)

    • finish adding songs to end DONE

    • if there are small songs, I can squeeze some in gaps earlier in book DONE

    • finish cover art DONE

  • final editing

    • compile index (auto-compiled, but sometimes formatting is affected so may need tweaking) DONE

    • proof read to make sure all songs are indexed DONE

    • make booklet PDF for printing (composite, or even/odd page files) DONE

  • printing /assembling

    • print covers (color printer, maybe light card stock)

    • print booklet PDF b&w EITHER on Tim's printer (two passes, even/odd) OR on duplexing printer

    • assemble and spine staple booklets
