Reminder: Carolyn will be more concerned about her Senior Talk than about anything else. She will want things to go smoothly, and if they don't she might explode. Please take all necessary precautions. Thank you. :-P
- Lord Reign In Me: In the key of C. No repeats at the end, otherwise, as written.
- How Great Thou Art: In the key of Bb. I will bring hymn sheets for Marshall, Alexis, and George and lead sheets in the correct key for anyone else who needs them on Wednesday night. Verse 3 a cappella, instruments re-enter on the last "how great thou art" of the proceeding chorus (right before verse 4 starts).
- Trust In The Lord: In the key of C. This is the new song that Tim's friend Steve Ostwald wrote. I will attach the recording below in case anyone wants an aural refresher before Wednesday night. Because I will not have the wherewithal to teach this to people who weren't at rehearsal on Sunday, those people may have to sit out for this one. Notes from rehearsal: Chords for the intro are the same as the first 4 measures of the refrain. mm. 5-9 are the refrain. Text for v.1: "Who has known the mind of the Lord? Who has been his counselor? Who has ever given to God that God should repay him?" We have decided on no instrumental verse before m.21. Chord changes for the end: mm. 21-22 should be F/A, C, C/G, G. All subsequent measures repeat this sequence. Text for mm. 21-end: "Oh, the depths and the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God. How unsearchable his judgments and his paths beyond tracing out. From him and through him and to him are all things." m. 24, tie the first 2 sixteenth notes together (word = paths). Repeats around mm. 25-28. Final note is incorrect on score. Should be a C. We will decide on Wednesday night how to end the piece.
*Carolyn Speaks! In the middle of the talk, Carolyn and Marshall (or just Carolyn) perform Que significa?*
- How Deep The Father's Love For Us. In the key of E. I will bring lead sheets in the correct key on Wednesday night. 1st ending will not be as written. Instead, play m.9 and one additional measure (of E?) - we will clarify this Wednesday night. At end of the song, "...wounds have paid my ransom" go back to pick up to the 3rd system, forte, "Why should I gain from his reward? I cannot give an answer." grand pause, I will everyone look at me or at Marshall to cue, we will clarify Wednesday night. Finish, piano & ritard, "But this I know with all my heart..."
- John 16:33
Rehearsal priorities for Wednesday night:
- How Deep The Father's Love For Us - we will rehearse v.2-end to clarify the endings.
- Make sure everyone is clear on How Great Thou Art.
- Trust In The Lord.
- Que Significa? if necessary.
